Since I haven't updated this blog in forever I will clue y'all in on the pregnancy thus far. We decided we were ready to start trying in September and by the end of the month I had a positive test in hand. I felt great and even had more energy than usual up until about 7 1/2 weeks. After than I had HORRIBLE morning sickness. It was to the point of barely being able to get out of bed. To combine that with my hubby being offshore from weeks 8-12 and I was one miserable mama.
Poor Avelyn. I could barely do anything for her. I tried all the tricks up to and including a medication called Diclegis. I ended up losing a total of 2.5 lbs during my first trimester.
At my 14 week appt my doctor said she would like to see me gain at least 5 lbs in the next month and thankfully the scale is going the right now again. :) Now for the actual Weekly update:
I am almost 16 but I will update from last week while it's still fresh in my mind.
We decided to find out the gender REALLLY early this time so we did an elective 3D ultrasound at 12 week 3 days which showed a nub. The tech said that since the nub was pointing down she was almost sure it was a girl but we should come back next week to double check.
We went back at 13 weeks 1 day and sure enough saw those three little lines meaning GIRL!!
We are so excited!!!
We've already chosen her name.
Isla Rose Doucet
Isla is pronounced like Island :)
Here is my bump update (I stole it off my Instagram @chrissydoucet I will try to have a classier shot in the future)!
How far along? 15 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: -0.5 lbs
Maternity clothes? Not yet. I am doing the rubber band on the jeans trick for now.
Stretch marks? Nope!
Best moment this week: Feeling less and less nausea as the days go on but the fatigue is still killing me. Cmon where is that second wind?
Miss anything: Sushi
Movement: Yes. With Avelyn I couldn't feel anything for sure until 18 weeks but this time I felt flutters and even a roll or two this week.
Food cravings: Mexican food! Oh how nice it is to actually look forward to and enjoy eating again.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Being in the passenger seat of a vehicle and scrolling on my Iphone.
Have you started to show yet: To me, yes. To others I probably just look a little bloated. At night it shows so much more than in the morning.
Labor Signs: NO WAY
Belly Button in or out? Already starting to look a little funky. Usually it has a little flap and now it's just a hole.
Wedding rings on or off? On!
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy most of the time! I am definitely having my hormonal moments though, especially dealing with a strong-willed (almost) 2 year old!
